Silo Walkway Anti-Slip Safety Improvement
A practical, fast-deploying anti-slip treatment for a silo access walkway that had become hazardous in wet and dusty conditions — now being rolled out to further walkways across the site.
View Case StudyControl cams that had fallen out of sequence were causing product overflow and switch contamination. The assembly was stripped, cleaned, re-timed and tested, with permanent reference marks added for quicker future calibration.
The control cams operating the roller limit switches had moved out of sequence. This caused the ballcock assembly to operate incorrectly, allowing product to overflow and contaminate the switches and cam mechanism.
The assembly was stripped down and thoroughly cleaned. The cams and limit switches were checked, reset to the correct operating positions and tested before the mechanism was rebuilt.
The complete assembly was tested during production and confirmed to operate correctly. Permanent reference marks were added to the cams, making future inspection and calibration quicker and more consistent.
